About Celestial Church of Christ Altar of Life
Our History
The Celestial Church of Christ is a spiritual, world-wide, united, indivisible Holy Church which came into the world from heaven by DIVINE ORDER on the 29th of September 1947 in Porto Novo, Republic of Benin, through the founder, Reverend Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa.
Since its founding, the church has experienced extraordinary growth, spreading across Africa, Europe, and the Americas, firmly establishing itself as a beacon of faith, healing, and spiritual deliverance for millions worldwide.
The Altar of Life Parish was established here in Scarborough, Ontario, to serve as a spiritual sanctuary. Rooted particularly in serving the growing African and Caribbean immigrant communities, we provide a welcoming home where cultural heritage and Christian faith harmonize beautifully.
Beyond worship, our parish life encompasses vital community rites of passage including baptisms, baby namings, marriages, and burial services, all while acting as a vital support network for newcomers and long-time residents alike. We take our community responsibilities seriously and operate as a proudly registered charitable organization in Canada (CRA Charity No: 860770536RR0001).

Senior Elder Adeyemi has led the Altar of Life Parish with unwavering dedication and spiritual insight since its early days. With a profound commitment to expository teaching and prayer, he has shepherded the congregation through seasons of significant growth and change. His vision is firmly rooted in maintaining the spiritual heritage of the Celestial Church of Christ while making its message relevant and accessible to the diverse population of Scarborough.

Scarborough represents the beautiful mosaic of Canada, home to families from countless nations. We deliberately chose to plant our parish here to serve this dynamic, multicultural neighborhood. We aim to be a spiritual anchor, providing stability, fellowship, and practical support to newcomers, long-time residents, and everyone in between.
